Press Release
LoungePress Selected As Provider of TechCrunch50 Voting Tokens for Second Year
Custom product site selected to provide TechCrunch40 voting tokens for tech start-up conference
Boynton Beach, FL – September 5, 2008 - - LoungePress (http://loungepress.com), the Web’s premier provider of applications for creating personalized, print-on-demand merchandise, will be providing the official voting tokens for the TechCrunch50 Conference, which will be held September 8 – 10 at San Francisco’s Design Concourse. This will be the second year that LoungePress has provided the tokens for the conference.
“Since our inaugural conference last year, we’ve received dozens of solicitations from companies offering a variety of voting solutions for this conference,” explains Heather Harde, CEO of TechCrunch. “But, in the end, our voting tokens were too much of a success with conference attendees to go with another provider.”
The tokens, custom-designed poker chips in three colors - one for each day of the event - are distributed to conference attendees during registration for TechCrunch50. The tokens will be used to vote for companies presenting in the conference’s Demo Pit, with the company earning the most tokens winning a spot to present as the final of the conference’s 50 startup companies on the last day of the event.
“As a startup, it’s always a privilege to partner with a major brand to further your business,” adds Michael Conner, CEO of LoungePress, Inc. “As a technology company, it’s an honor to work with the one brand that has helped more startups than any other. We’re pleased to be working with TechCrunch to provide their voting tokens.”
“The voting tokens were the hit of the conference last year,” notes Arthur Madrid, CEO of Wixi, Inc, one of the companies selected to launch at last year’s TechCrunch40. “I still have one of the tokens. I carry it with me everywhere I go as my good luck charm.”
